parson / fragile - Into the Night
A mixed bag of dubstep and future 2-Step from Planet Mu's Parson in a split EP showdwon with Fragile. While the artwork is very cool, depicting some kind of classic 50's sci-fi comic scene, it doesn't give many clues as to who's done what here, but head straight for the two tracks on the flip. The first is a slow and low rolling dubstepper with evil bass rolls and chilling vocals sounding like Massive Attack given a makeover by Loefah or Kryptic Minds, and a second cut taken out of the darkstep top drawer with El-B style drumworks, spot on emotive vocals and pressure applied in all the right spots. Ace package for lovers of the more sensual and darker side of dubstep.
