The mysterious New Jersey-based Memory Cassette release this EP as their debut missive, and the first track alone is enough to have you firmly hooked. The sublime alt. summer anthem 'Surfin' brings to mind the kind of faux-nostalgia and psychedelic disco of a band like Air France, creating phantom-like pop music that's somewhere between MGMT and Boards Of Canada, while the voice sounds rather like Mercury Rev's Jonathan Donahue haunting your house. Thoroughly strange, but massively beguiling throughout.
