CLARO INTELECTO
claro intelecto - Warehouse Sessions Volume 1
Having just this week aired 20 minutes worth of unreleased warehouse material for a Breezeblock session, Mark Stewart at long last unveils the first in this series of pristine twelves designed, honed and tweaked for the floor. The Warehouse Sessions will concentrate on Claro’s darker edge : minimally constructed, full-bodied, deviant 4/4 variations with the headier end of the warehouse in mind. “Thieves” opens the series with a full-bodied assault on midnight – a dark clunk of deep, padded techno underpinning impossibly widescreen emissions, a relentless attack formation guided by soulful machinery executed through the tightest production imaginable. “New Dawn” on the flip is just gargantuan – a heavy slug of post-industrial genius taking the metallic clunk Monolake are so well known for, slowing things right down and marrying it with the faint ghost of Rhythm and Sound...dub echoes leading charge to utter oblivion. This is the most developed materiel from Claro yet, following his own trajectory through a template torn wide-open with an instinctive production style that just seems to be forever developing. Mighty.
