Righteous new twelve from Pinch for Planet Mu, getting tricky with the arrangements for a brilliantly wrong-footed percussive killer on the title track - one of those tracks that sounds too fast and too slow at the same time, with half time chords weaving in and out of doubled-up beats to jarring, brillianty fresh effect. "Teleportation" on the flip is much more spacious and brooding, developing into a kind of sparse 2-step modification complete with haunting sounds buried in the mix and some effortlessly effective synths riding an amazingly deep, undulating bassline. Pinch is a producer with a now long-established history of refusing to tag onto any one dimension in the dubstep universe and this is another twelve that will appeal to both fans of the Peverelist school of technofied transmission and the precision reduction of, say Loefah. Big twelve.
