Ostgut Ton expand their remit beyond their immediate family of skilled operators to invite the legendary Surgeon and man-of the-moment Martyn to remix tracks from Shed's future classic 'Shedding The Past '. The remix selectors tie in nicely with the label/club's recent forays into steppy and uber deep techno events with their Sub:stance and Leisure Systems nights respectively inviting said artists to abuse their overwhelming Funktion 1 rig with alternative styles to the usual pump-a-thon techno and house sessions. Surgeon's mix is just an out and out killer, perhaps tailoring his style to the thump and bounce version of 'The Lower Upside Down', tempering his usual industrial sounds into a long playing DJ tool with cranium collapsing kicks that reorganise Shed's trippy synthlines to hover ominously in the sweaty atmosphere. Martyn's version of 'Another Wedged Chicken' has been caned by any jock lucky enough to own an advance copy, serving multiple purposes with a rare 130bpm trip into pure technoXdubstep beat science staying faithful to Shed's original but swung far out with the inimitable "Martyn Sound". There's no need to big this one up any more, you already know it's a no brainer, right?! KILLER!!!!!
