phroq - Live at Namba-BEARS
Tremendously powerful improvised laptop noise from Francisco Merino, recorded live in February 2003 at the namba-BEARS club in Osaka, Japan. This release is a single fifty-minute track that evolves from brittle, combustive noise shapes, taking in extreme synth contortions and disorientating blasts of speech. It's very extreme, raw material throughout, and there's really not much of a 'journey' being traversed by Phroq. That in itself is worthy of admiration, and an hour or so of disorganised, senseless noise should always be considered a welcome listening experience... shouldn't it? Yes. Yes it should.
