untold - Yukon / Walk Through Walls
Well crafted future dubstep gear from the mind of Untold. Striking out with the first release on his own Hemlock imprint Untold aligns himself with the forward stepping styles of Kontext, Peverelist and 2562 with a thick plate of hi end steppers rhythms perhaps owing more to classic British Electronica and the Warp catalogue than the usual soundsystem/hardcore continuum linage of the rest of the dubstep contingent. 'Yukon' sets the scene with a contorted metallic rhythm sounding not dissimilar to that killer Erast track on Laboratory Instinct some years back with added sub wriggles to compete with the best of them, while 'walk through walls' on the flip works on a stripped steppers thing, surrounded by disorientating synthwork and layers of field recordings. Very compatible with the trickier end of the dubstep spectrum, check!
