newworldaquarium - The Dead Bears
We think this much overlooked album from Jochem Peteri's Newworldaquarium project is one of the finest examples of slow, compressed House and Techno variations we've heard in the last 5 years. It's a deep, sprawling affair that takes in sumptuous Chicago reductions and crawling Detroit shuffles a la Theo Parrish, except much more squashed. There's a whole movement of slowed down House music at the moment, spearheaded by the likes of the Workshop label and in particular Kassem Mosse, and this killer album is for us at the very top of that rather special pile. Huge recommendation - Buy.
