The Ostgut label is aligning itself as one of the most reliable and vital Techno imprints in the world - and this latest twelve from Dettmann collaborator Marcel Fengler is one of its most uncompromising and fearless releases yet. A-side track "Friction" is a rugged and relentless looped and filtered Warehouse killer that has been primed and honed for maximal Berghain devastation, with barely noticeable undulations imbuing the track with a woozy, almost overwhelming feel. But it's the b-side that totally owns this twelve, "Yaki" being an angular and uncontrollable bass chug that sounds something like Pan Sonic, T++/Dynamo and Surgeon rolled into one, the attention to detail, production and striding, f*cked-up arrangement making for one of those tracks that will completely f*ck with the dance, in the best possible way. Absolutely mighty twelve - Essential Purchase!
