Alba Absurdia

A long time ago in a bothy far far away, a collective of electronic musicians from Scotland were subconsciously drawn to a higher purpose: that of collaborating on a compilation album containing the most cutting edge electronica the fayre country had ever witnessed, probably the first of its kind. Many local labels have been involved at one time or another, only to ditch the project for fear of its impact on the controllers and the public. Finally, the material product has come to fruition, released in its own right and independently manufactured, the self titled “alba absurdia”. Featuring tracks from a host of scottish luminaries and several mysteries, one killer exclusive cut from Benbecula’s rising star ‘Christ’, more nursery rhymes from the loveable Frog Pocket and analogue heaven from Joni. Also exclusive to this release are tracks from bip-hop’s Bovine Life, minimilast glory from CK Dexter Haven, divine electro from the Wee DJs and digital mayhem from Diskono’s Ehlmsie Rocon. Many artists make their popular debut here with some tear jerking material from Operator, organic excellence from Benbecula’s new star Reverbaphon and Nimrod 33 who re-writes the rules with what will no doubt become a total anthem in the chill out rooms across the planet.
