sonnamble - Blindlight
Fresh in from boutique imprint, Forwind; the sophomore album of quiet, considered electro-acoustic improvisation by London's Peter Marsh (Lap steel guitar and double bass) and Conor Curran (live processing and analogue synthesizer) aka Sonnamble. Remixed and remastered for this CD release, 'Blindlight' centres around the morphed timbres of Marsh's Lap steel guitar, rendering a slow-moving, fuzzy miasma of drones, chords and twangs barely recognisable from the instruments original voice thanks to Curran's deft software manipulations. A patina of rippling, spiky glitches create subtly dynamic motion against backdrops alternating between oily and silty with fluid intuition, sounding particularly impressive on the moody bloom of the title track.
