torche - In Return
Its been three years since Torche's Black Sabbath worshipping, very loud self-titled debut LP. With In Return they.. well return with a seven- track EP of momentous, blistering and just-as-loud thrash rock. To give you a clue Torche's Myspace genre evaluation reads "Rock Rock Rock" whilst a peek at heir record label website, Robotic Empire, reveals a ridiculous dedication to excess; In Return is being offered up in six coloured vinyl editions. Hurry, the camouflague edition is flying off the shelves... Silliness aside, In Return certainly sounds like the work of a road tested outfit. It is interesting to note that Torche comprises of members of the respectable, sadly deceased Floor. Just like the output of the latter, In Return serves as evidence that melody and metal should and can co-exist quite happily. After opening track Warship lays down heavy slabs of overdriven guitar, the title track bursts forth with melodic vocals and lead guitar cutting through the dense wall of noise.
