*The seminal KMS label celebrates 25 years of prime Detroit House & Techno with a bumper 49-track, quadruple CD set. Kevin Maurice Saunderson's KMS label celebrates 25 years of prime Detroit House & Techno releases in style. In operation since 1987, KMS forms the holy trinity of pre-1990 labels from the 313 alongside Juan Atkins' Metroplex and Derrick May's Transmat. Spanning nearly 50 of the label's finest tracks this compilation should be considered a good overview of KMS, taking in everything from Saunderson's productions as Reese, E-Dancer and Inner City - classics such as 'Rock To The Beat', 'Velocity Funk' or 'Ahnongay' - to the likes of 'Truth Of Self Evidence' under his own name, thru classics inlcuding Fix's (Orlando Voorn) 'Flash', Marc Kinchen's 'Somebody New' and remix work from Carl Craig and Chez 'N Trent. The only gripe is that it all sounds like it's ripped from vinyl, but otherwise it's a smart primer for youngers swotting up on their history!
