Berlin's Oliver Doerell and Stephan Wohrmann return with their third album on City Centre Offices as Swod, following 2004's Gehen and 2007's Sekunden. It's a smart, emotionally involving sequence of melancholic, minimalist sketches, characterised by piano, quivering acoustic timbres and rich electronic ambience- it's generously melodic and sweetly textured stuff, but with an occasionally scratchy, disturbed atmosphere that reminds of us vintage Mille Plateaux or Dettinger.
