diskaholics anonymous - Diskaholics Anonymous Trio
Ten year anniversary reissue of this blistering and deeply engaged collaboration between Jim O'Rourke, Mats Gustaffson and Thurston Moore. In the times that's passed they coincided on 2006's equally outré 'Weapons Of Ass Destruction', but this is their debut article, featuring three free-formed extended improvisations by some of the world's most agile leftfield players. Gustaffson plays tubax, tenor sax and French flageolet, ranging from walls of squall to chirruping interjections telepathically timed with Jim O'Rourke's uncannily organic synth and computer processing and Moore's dextrous - but not showy - guitar, mapping out a constantly morphing and most often exhilarating world of sound. Fans of free music (we're not talking soulseek), this is a total essential.
