Nine years since his last LP, the OG drumfunk D&B don spills ten tracks of inimitably programmed rhythms. Never one to pander to trend, Paradox digs deeper into his deeply rooted groove but does allow for two concessions to slower tempos. Working at 135bpm, 'The Last B-Boy' restructures the classic Apache break in an ethereal mist of melodica tones and chest-caving sub hits, while the killer closing cut 'Consonance' is a dynamite Latinized dub shuffler twystin' out at roughly 140bpm. The other four tracks cover more conventional Paradox tempos, from the clipped dip and swing of 'Ghost Notes' to the impossibly agile 'Black 69'. Still, few can touch this man in his arena.
