hans tanza - An Audience With Hans Tanza
**USB stick containing seven tracks, a series of special reports and a video introduction to Tanza Consulting housed in a kind of tobacco tin case** This is the latest work of sonic fiction from the massively promising Dramatic Records, slyly lampooning the corporate aesthetic through lysergic synth wave pop. On 'An Audience With Hans Tanza' Hans makes orderly electro-pop which feels like it's on the edge of urban burnout, arranging efficient, hyper-productive synthline arpeggios which yearn to break free from their 34th floor office into the distant horizon, while vocals perpetually feel driven to the brink of sanity, either pitched up or delivered with a caffeine-driven urgency. There's definitely something here that connects with the Ghost Box and Mordant schools of black humoured eccentricity at one end, and the anxieties of vintage Depeche Mode at the other, but really copywriting a sinister, slyly corporate identity all its own. Recommended!
