eskmo - Eskmo
After a suite of acclaimed singles for Warp and Planet Mu, San Francisco's Brendan Angelides aka Eskmo reaches his sophomore album. His uniquely proggy and melodic take on electronic hiphop drafts in elements of dubstep, Rustie/Flylo funk and the kind of angular, complex pop played by Rudi Zygadlo, resulting in florid compositions which don't fit easily in any category. Abandoning the need to create "club" tracks, 'Eskmo' is an expression of song craft using his own vocals and unconventional arrangments enhanced with his undeniably dynamic production talent.
