dmx krew - Wave Funk
Ed DMX has released much of his best material through the legendary Rephlex label. In the wake of his ace 'The March Of The Stars' for Legowelt's Strange Life label, 'Wave Funk' follows his 'Wave' collection of a few years back, gathering one disc of brand new material and another compiling previously vinyl-only releases, 35 tracks in total. That's a lot of funk! We can gladly say he's not changed his agenda with the first disc, keeping it squished, fonky and thoroughly unique throughout, from the acidic Cold Wave theme of 'Cherry Ripe', through the brilliant boogie funk of 'Mr. Blue' to creepy sleaze of 'Gravity Boots', the Drexciyan flow of 'Zero Gravity Aerobics' and a sublime closer in the tape degraded 'Metro 1990'. On the other disc you'll get tracks from the four previously vinyl-only volumes of his 'Collapse Of the Wave Function' series. Dapper.
