p jorgensen / peter broderick - Palimpsest (For Strings): Two Variations
Never ones to shirk an opportunity for some swish packaging, Under The Spire dispense this latest release in a handy "business card" format. It's a great little release too, composed by P Jørgensen and performed by none other than Peter Broderick, who plays strings. There are just two tracks on the disc (the proportions of the format are hardly the most accommodating), which is intended as a special, limited promotional item for a double-disc album due in September. The first piece is a lovely but incredibly fleeting sub minute-long edit, while the second offers a more substantial five-minute take that morphs the strings into something wholly more ethereal and drone-like. Just 100 copies for the world.
