'Some Shit Saaink' is the collaborative effort by two of leftfield jungle's most deadly drum technicians. It originally leapt forth from Subtle Audio last year but Rephlex's Grant Wilson-Claridge has become so enamoured with its heavyweight drumfunk processing that he's given it a CD reissue on his label. The producers, Macc and Dgohn, have created a masterpiece of percussive expressions, perhaps not immediately intended for the floor, but a serious challenge for anyone limbre enough and well co-ordinated to take it on. This is the drum art of Venetian Snares, Paradox, or Aphex Twin coloured with a darkly atmospheric jazz touch. It's probably not fashionable right now, but it's seriously good and if you're int he mood for a private twyst up, this will turn ya inside out. Aces.
