Following up on the grandiose single 'SDP', The Kissaway Trail's Sleep Mountain long-player finds the Danish group joining the current ranks of Arcade Fire-inspired bands doing the rounds, but as the aforementioned 'SDP' highlighted, this quintet know how to go about their craft properly, deploying bells and other such cathedral-sized trappings in all the right ways. Further Arcade Fire comparisons are sure to be prompted by songs with titles like 'Don't Wake Up', but the band are highly accomplished at creating these upscale, emotionally charged indie-epics. Renowned US producer Peter Katis helms the record, helping shape its immense trajectory, but also helps take the tone down a few notches in time for the outstanding 'Philadelphia', an ethereal rendering of Neil Young's theme from the Jonathan Demme movie of the same name.
