eddy current suppression ring - Primary Colours
Melodic present the official UK release of the award winning Primary Colours album by Australian combo Eddy Current Suppression Ring (catchy band name, huh?) paired with their eponymous debut full-length. In their homeland ECSR won the Australian Music Prize with Primary Colours, winning rave reviews along the way, now their brand of motorik post-punk travels to the Northern hemisphere, delivered with a rowdy, thrashy quality that isn't too far removed from compatriots The Drones, but there's a slightly more primal, brazen quality to the musical backdrop here, perhaps at times paralleling The Fall, but also obliquely referring to whole chapters of garage rock history. Good stuff.
