brian eno - Thursday Afternoon
*Back in stock* Released in 1985, Brian Eno's Thursday Afternoon takes multiple layers of processed piano and synthetic soundscapes, phasing the signals in such a fashion as to recall the fluid asynchronous motion of 1975's Discreet Music. Thursday Afternoon is just a single track running up to sixty-one minutes in length, taking advantage of the extended continuous flow of sound made possible by the introduction of the compact disc format. This record feels like a very natural evolution and refinement of Eno's original thoughts about ambient music as something that presents an illusion of "endless, relatively unchanging moods". As with the rest of these reissues Thursday Afternoon sounds wonderful all these years on, and only consolidates Eno's position as a true musical visionary.
