The honour of compiling the latest Rinse mix falls to the legendary hands of the station's premo grime selector Spyro, mashing 30 tracks of current grimy goodness in little over than 50 minutes. Spyro is responsible for Rinse.FM's most popular weekly grime show, and continuing the tradition of grime DJ's from the 8-bar days with rapid-fire chop and blend styles picking the leanest and most essential grime, 2-Step and garage tracks to process via kill switch and fader manipulation in the Spyro blender. This CD is definitely a case of all killer and no filler, picking outright bangers across the grime spectrum from Lil Silva's funky grime smashas 'Seasons' & 'Funky Flex', to Ruff Sqwad's itchy 'Man Dem', via synthy freshness from Joker 'Retro Racer', anthems from D1 'Ongie Bongie', Dizzee 'I Luv U', Sway 'F Your Ex', and stone cold classics on Menta's 'Sounds Of The Future', Scratchy 'Shangooli' or Dee Kline's ' I Don't Smoke' (always good for a giggle). The rest of the mix is stuffed with killer riddims and tools that it's great to finally be able to put a name to with DOK, Maniac, DVA, J.BR, Sticky, P.Jam and loads more making an appearance. Any heads feeling a little intimidated by the grime scene's sometimes overwhelming circle of DJs, tracks and shows need to look at this as the perfect entry point for a properly vibrant and energetic hardcore music.
