Still blagging the boss for a dicky toe that keeps playing up, Virus Syndicate have had enough time between smoking blunts and playing Xbox to produce their latest grime story 'Sick Pay'. Manchester's most famous grime crew follow the success of their cartoonish 'The Work Related Illness' with another set of autobiographical grime lyrics spat with a definitvely Manc inflection, over wicked riddims from Mark One, saving some of his best beats for the crew. There's Timbaland style Bhangra sampling on 'taxman returns' and 'Dippin', Benga style electro-step on 'Vibrator', and the hyper R'n'G on the original version of 'Neva Argue', also included in the Various Production remixed form at the end of the album. The crew have stuck to the style that made their name and earned them a massive fanbase and we can't knock it. Just don't let them near your mixer with a bottle of Smirnoff ice.
