b. fleischmann - Angst Is Not A Weltanschaung
Angst Is Not A Weltanschauung is the fourth solo album B. Fleischmann has recorded for Morr Music and it's far and away his most organic and song-based outing to date, featuring a revised writing style that focuses on vocals - not only Fleischmann's own, but those of a number of contributors. You'll even hear Daniel Johnston's presence on the album: 'Phones, Machines and King Kong' is a reworking of Johnston's original 'King Kong' with some added hi-fi warmth from Fleischmann's bank of electronic contraptions. If all this sounds rather too much like a complete abandonment of Fleischmann's past, never fear, there are elaborate yet very approachable instrumentals like 'Playtime' and the beautiful 'The Market', whose rich and fulsome sonic makeup is something that will delight fans old and new, sounding like Kim Hiorthoy at work with a chamber ensemble. Beautiful stuff, and a marked evolutionary step for one of Morr's most enduring figures.
