Includes bonus cassette with Vessel's 'Psychosis' mix** Young Echo's El Kid makes his mark on No Corner with a 4-track concept EP featuring the final transmissions of the fictional SS Labyrinth, moments before it reached crush depth. This 30 minute EP employs recordings from "a skeleton radiophonic crew trapped inside a critically damaged nuclear submarine listing in deepest arctic waters", woven with scudding minimal techno and ice-deflected signals, recounting in abstract, subaquatic detail the fictional sub's final voyage, from the A-side's urgent, thudding descent to the B-side's buckling echo-chamber shudders of noise techno and the final, range-finding peals of the ships submerged bell. Vessel's 'Psychosis Mix' of the final track 'We Need Mirrors' amplifies its panicked sense of emergency with febrile torque and coruscating sound design to sound one of his finest efforts in 2012.
